I've Moved!

Hello my lovely friends and family! I am happy to report that I am officially all moved into my new home! It was quite the journey down-- Mom and I left July 1 and drove to Richfield, Utah where we stayed with the very hospitable and gracious Jeannie and Leo. It was great to catch up and see Wade, Jen, Mason and Anna (it was particularly fun to watch Anna swim- what a little fish!)

On July 2 we drove through Arizona, Las Vegas, Death Valley, the Mojave Desert, and passed the World’s Largest Thermometer (showing temperatures well above the 100’s) to finally be caught in my first traffic jam in San Diego that evening. Feeling adventurous, one of my new roommates (Bella) took Mom and me to Ikea (WOW, what a world!). We purchased quite a few pieces of furniture (i.e., big dresser, little dresser, desk, bookshelf, and night stand) and spent the following day putting furniture together like Jesus! No joke, we were pretty amazing, if I do say so myself :)

On the 4th, Mom and I shared a lovely date, eating sushi and went to see Hancock (really entertaining!) Mama returned home on the 5th- it was tough to say goodbye of course-(with all my family for that matter), but it is just a reminder of how lucky I am to have something so difficult to say goodbye to…

My new roommates are really cute and made a large effort to make me and Mom feel very welcome. The past few nights they’ve been showing me the best places to get Mexican food, ice cream, and of course, shopping. There is Bella (pronounced Bey-ya) who is from Fresno and joining me in the MSW program. There is Michelle- a really fun girl but who is leaving in a month to attend a different MSW program (so we will be getting a new roomie soon) There is Danielle who is very sweet and going into Special Ed (from LA). And then there is Nicole, who is working towards her psychology degree and is from San Diego. I think I really lucked out- they are all very sweet, compassionate girls and I am looking foward to getting to know them better.

Thank you for all your kind words and support! It is so nice to still feel attached to all of you, even when I am so far away. I love you all VERY much!
